Although for a short period of time, purple orchid hidden indoor and still blooming. Singapore a fast changing cityscape where development is non-stop. Playgrounds of my generation are replaced by present ones that my son plays. In a city, almost all built structure have their expiry date. A typical playground structure with the dragon head feature that shows singapore being surrounded by sea. Will it stimulate a chidren's imagination when they see a sea creature actually stand on ground surrounded with sand. The notion of play is fun as it sets no limit. Singapore a fast changing cityscape where development is non-stop. Playgrounds of my generation are replaced by present ones that my son plays. In a city, almost all built structure have their expiry date. In this painting, it shows a complex entanglement of my past with my son's present day playtime environment. Its very interesting how as I watch my son grows, I would remember and reflect on my past that are lost in memory.

When we open our hearts to see, inspiration comes from everything around us. The subject in this case is an Orchid as it complements the beautiful paper with little dots that form an intriguing lace-like pattern. Hence the dots on the Orchid are represented with the patterned dots of the paper. Painting thoughts no. 3 The walker is a very important furniture for babies from 5months until they can start to walk on their own. He enjoyed it so much since it gives him a little freedom to be able to wonder about the house and to explore. The over-exposed photo puts the focus on the walker by giving it a shining glare.

The colouful traditional costume that these girls are wearing can divert our attention to a point where most people would think that they are happy to adorn it. However, they are in fact making a living by posing to take photographs with tourists. I incorporated this piece in my series so as to remind myself that Min Ze should not be pampered, despite being my first and only child, as there are lots of children that are not as fortunate. Leia Girl is my pet rabbit and Bit Bit is a dwarf breed that I have helped to foster. They received a lot of attention before my boy was born. They were my closest encounter with “little creatures” before my boy. I am sure all parents encounter times when their babies are hard to tame. You cannot reason with them at this age and sometimes no amount of soothing sweet talk can make them stop crying. When they are mischevious, they remind me of how monkeys are in the zoo.
